When we look at our students, we do not see classes. Rather, we see individuals who have unique needs and interests. Being able to cater to those needs and even go beyond that to creating meaningful interactions unique to each student is one thing we strive to maintain.
Our entire course and teaching method focuses heavily on maximising performance in exams. We understand that it is one thing to master the theory, and another thing to be able to score the marks in an exam.
Continual and personalised feedback is a core element at Hero. We encourage students to make the mistakes at Hero and correct them early, rather than make the mistakes for the first time in school and the HSC where it counts!

We value simplicity and take pride in our ability to make things that are complicated and confusing simple, straight forward and easy to understand. It is this previously undiscovered level of understanding that ignites interest and passion for the subject in our students.
The classes at Hero are lively and dynamic. By taking a 80-20 approach, the tutor delivers information 80% of the time, encouraging 20% of the learning to come directly from the students. This stimulates students to take an active role in their own learning, keeps classes fun and engaging and provides a modern and effective way of understanding and retaining information.
Described by students as the “Bibles of Chemistry and Physics”, our student resources are developed and refined to provide the best possible learning and revision tool for the HSC. This often leaves students confused as to whether they should even bother making their own notes.
A typical lesson opens with a short quiz on the content covered in the previous class. This ensures that our students are always on top of not only what they are learning, but what they have learnt already.
Covering every single NESA syllabus dot-point, our lessons are carefully crafted to ensure that students are nothing less than 100% confident with every concept, experiment and research task in the course.
Our homework booklets are extremely exam-focused, linking theory to application. By getting weekly practice and feedback on examination questions all year, our students open their school papers with a strong sense of familiarity and confidence.
At the end of each topic, a topic test is sat under exam conditions. This allows students to express their competitive nature but more importantly, allows us to gauge their performance and provide extensive feedback before moving on in the course.
